ActiveJet Team teeming with excitement at Tour de Pologne

Two cyclists on ActiveJet Team showed their mental and physical strength in Poland’s most important (and Central and Eastern Europe’s one and only) World Tour in cycling. Paweł Franczak and Konrad Dąbkowski are sponsored by ACTION S.A. ActiveJet, one of the most popular brands in the ink and toner cartridges industry in Poland.

The 71th Tour de Pologne started on August 3 in Gdańsk. Over the next days, the cycling team of Poland sponsored by ActiveJet and wearing white and red valiantly completed the Tour’s stages in Bydgoszcz, Warsaw, Rzeszów, Katowice, Strbskie Pleso and Bukowina Tatrzańska. The Tour’s final stage finished on August 9 in Kraków, with Rafał Majka as the race’s winner.

Tour de Pologne Konrad Dąbkowski was very close to the top ten (12th position) after the Tour’s 3rd stage finishing in Rzeszów. In the same stage, Paweł Franczak showed his impressive skills by breaking away for the majority of the day, only to be caught by the peloton in the stage’s final kilometres. His engagement and determination was appreciated by the Tour’s referees who awarded him the title of the stage’s Most Combative Rider. This meant the he was decorated on the podium, with camera flashes all around and in front of a huge crowd of fans.

Like in previous Tours, this year the cyclists crossed Poland’s border: the finish line of stage 5 was in Strbskie Pleso in Slovakia, followed by next day’s start back in Poland, in Bukowina Tatrzańska. Those who counted on Action S.A.’s President, Piotr Bieliński, were not disappointed: he made a successful appearance by winning Poland’s 1st Capital Market Championship, part of Tour de Pologne for Amateurs. The amateurs enjoyed a professionally prepared course (the same as for the professional Tour), received medals for participation and an unforgettable shot of adrenaline. One of the contestants in the Amateur Tour was Zbigniew Bródka, Poland’s Olympic gold medallist in speed skating from Sochi.

Tour de Pologne Tour de Pologne is one of the most prestigious sporting events in Poland. Each year it is supported by many institutions and companies, and fans along the Tour’s stages can enjoy many attractions.

Currently, thanks to the commitment of Piotr Bieliński, President of the Board, ActiveJet is the naming sponsor of the newly-established professional cycling team.
