Iwona Lewandowska, Poland's women's champion in 10 kilometre street races and one of the best Polish marathoners, led a training run for Legia Warszawa football fans. The event was participated by the winners of the competition organised by the main sponsor of the Warsaw's football club under the slogan "Be Active with ActiveJet!".
The training run was held on 8 July. All the participants met in front of the Pepsi Arena, the home of the Legia Warszawa Football Club and then did a few kilometre's loop along the Vistula River, ending their run at the place of start. On their way they posed to a souvenir picture taken at the monument of Kazimierz Deyna, a famous Polish football player.
It was a truly interesting experience, as the participants included both regular as well as occasional runners, the latter with hardly any track and field experience,Iwona Lewandowska said after the run. - This does not mean however that they were not prepared for the run. Many of the runners were amateur football players who spend a lot of time running at the pitch. This is a slightly different type of exercise but everyone has done an excellent job, the Polish medallist added.
The training run with Iwona Lewandowska was not the only prize in the competition. Winners have also received official Legia Warszawa shirts and sets of club gadgets.
All prizes were funded by ACTION S.A., owner of the ActiveJet brand, Iwona Lewandowska's sponsor and the main sponsor of the Legia Warszawa Football Club.
